I am currently preparing my second monograph, on British theatre-maker Tim Crouch, for Manchester University Press. The provisional title for this is The Political Theatre of Tim Crouch.
Recent research projects
In the past five years, I have collaborated as a co-investigator in three international, externally-funded projects:
“British Theatre in the Twenty-First Century: Crisis, Affect, Community”. Principal Investigator: Prof Mireia Aragay (Barcelona). Funded by the Spanish Government and the European Regional Development Fund. From Jan 2017 to Dec 2020 [extended to June 2021 due to the impact of COVID-19]. For this project, I co-edited and contributed to a collection titled Affects in 21st-Century British Theatre: Exploring Feeling on Page and Stage (Palgrave Macmillan 2021).
“Ethical issues in contemporary British theatre since 1989: globalisation, theatricality, spectatorship”. Principal Investigator: Prof Mireia Aragay (Barcelona). Funded by the Spanish Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad. From Jan 2013 to July 2016.
“Representations of precariousness in contemporary British theatre”. Principal Investigator: Prof Martin Middeke (Augsburg). Funded by the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst/German Academic Exchange Service. From Jan to Dec 2014.
